iTunes loaded and songs selected, but get "You must first load iTunes and select some songs in iTunes" error message

description

I just downloaded iTunes Lyrics 1.3 today (January 12, 2010).
I am trying to use it with iTunes 9.0.0.70

iTunes is running and songs are selected, but I get a "You must first load iTunes and select some songs in iTunes" error message when I push the "Get Lyrics" button. See the attached pic for a screen shot.

The old version from the Google code site (http://code.google.com/p/ilyrics/issues/detail?id=51#c4) works.

Any idea what the issue might be?

Thanks,
Nick

Hi Nick,

That is strange. I am using 9.0.2.25 and it works fine for me. Can you do me a favor? Can you please take Interop.iTunesLib.DLL from the previous version (1.1) and replace the one in 1.2+ with it and try again?

If it does, please let me know.

Thanks,

Abdul

Hi Abdul,
I verified that version 1.2 from http://code.google.com/p/ilyrics/issues/detail?id=51#c19 has the same issue as version 1.3 -- it doesn't think any songs are selected.

Then I replaced your version 1.3 iTunes interop DLL with the version from 1.2 and got the same problem. I verified that the original code from http://code.google.com/p/ilyrics/issues/detail?id=51#c4 doesn't have this problem.

Finally I replaced your version 1.3 iTunes interop DLL with the original iTunes interop DLL and the same problem is still there. So, it looks like the problem is not fixed by switching the interop DLL. In addition, this problem exists for me in version 1.2 as well as your 1.3, but not in the first version of the code.
